Review Policy
BAJ (Behavioral Accounting Journal)
BAJ uses peer review as its primary mechanism to ensure the quality, scientific validity, and integrity of every published article. The review process is conducted objectively and independently, in accordance with established academic standards.
Peer Review Process
The primary objective of the peer-review process is to assist editors in making publication decisions and to help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive feedback from experts in the field.
BAJ utilizes a double-blind peer-review system, wherein:
* the author's identity is unknown to the reviewer;
* the reviewer's identity is unknown to the author.
This system is implemented to minimize potential bias and ensure that manuscripts are evaluated based on scientific quality, methodology, novelty, and research contribution, rather than the author's identity, institution, or background. In general, each article will be reviewed by at least two reviewers.
Articles submitted to BAJ will be processed first through the Editor's Evaluation. Only articles that fit within the scope of the BAJ and comply with instructions to the authors will be further reviewed. Editor's evaluation can take up to 1 month.
After the Editor's Evaluation, the author must revise the manuscript according to the editor's suggestions. After that, the revised article will be reviewed. The review process can take from 1 to 3 months. However, the reviewers will have 4 weeks to review. When the Reviewer's report has been completed, and the author revises the manuscript, he/she will be notified of the Editor's decision to publish in BAJ and any necessary modifications.
The response of the reviewers will be the basis for the Editor to conclude:
1. Revisions Required
2. Accept Submission
3. Decline Submission
Articles that have passed the review process and are accepted will be published in one of the BAJ editions. However, the Editor-in-Chief has the final say and, in his/her sole discretion, can decide which papers to publish or not to publish.
An article was rejected for publication due to various considerations, including:
- The article does not fit the scope
- The article does not follow the rules of writing scientific papers / does not follow the author's guidelines or the BAJ template
- The fundamental methodological errors
- The author refuses to implement the reviewer's suggestion for improvement without a logical basis.
- There are indications of plagiarism of more than 40%
The article review process usually takes 4 to 16 weeks. This review period depends on the editors' and reviewers' duration in reviewing the manuscript. If the author does not get confirmation from BAJ for a long time, the author can confirm by email at sofie.yunida.ak@upnjatim.ac.id
